Suan Phueng, is this Thailand?/Monkey Business

This weekend, my aunt took a big group of us to Suan Phueng.  When we first arrived, I didn't even believe I was in Thailand anymore.  I thought I was in Austria at the Swiss Alps or some place similar.  It was a touristy area that was conveying a cowboy type theme.  It was definitely cute, but entirely unexpected in Thailand.

Seriously...Thailand?  HAHA

 Famous delicious chicken.

Quite a method of cooking, the owner himself.

 Lots and lots of bananas.

 Kao Chone Waterfall.

I didn't get the memo of don't smile, but very nice people from Myanmar and Laos that work for my aunt.

Took a nice little hike up the waterfall.

On the way to our resort in the Mountains of Suan Phueng.

It was a very charming place.

Beautiful pieces of art all over the resort house.

11 U.S. cents per pineapple.  Definitely isn't that cheap back at home!

 Monkeys everywhere!

Lots of of Buddhist statues and offerings inside the cave.

More monkey business!

Lovely two days in the green mountains.  Ate some amazing Thai food and just relaxed in the clean air.   You don't really get a whole lot of that in Bangkok and the surrounding areas.  Where we were located was about 1 km. from the border of Myanmar.  Unfortunately we didn't have time to make it over that way.

3 weeks in Thailand come and gone!

To all those back in the states, I guess the Super Bowl is today?...  THE REST OF THE WORLD DOESN'T CARE!  hahahaha  Just kidding!  But, TRUE!

Random Fun Facts:
1) The minimum wage in Thailand is 300 baht per day.  That is the equivalent of $10.07 in the States.
2) Thailand’s name in the Thai language is Prathet Thai, which means “Land of the Free”.  It is the only country in Southeast Asia that was never colonized by a European nation.
3) The brothers Eng and Chang who gave the world the term “Siamese twins” were born in 1811 in a village near Bangkok.
